To help introduce partners to our latest portfolio addition, we are running a series of “RealWear in Action” articles. This feature we look at IIoT visualisation. Making every worker a mobile command centre, the RealWear HMT platform provides operators with the real-time data they need when operating, inspecting or maintaining equipment.
What is IIoT Visualisation on the RealWear HMT?
IIoT visualisation delivers actionable information to workers about the machines they’re using, inspecting or servicing – enabling smarter decision making and predictive maintenance related to those machines. Able to deliver data in real-time, operators can use the HMT platform to easily see relevant information for the task at hand.
Available in different formats, from simple document access to full augmented reality (AR) experiences, IIoT visualisation can increase productivity, safety and reliability. Using the onboard camera, workers can quickly scan barcodes or QR codes associated to machines, triggering the HMT device to access and load data about that machine to the HMT display. Data examples can include any variable which is captured, such as temperature, pressure, power and so on. In sharing this data in real-time, the worker can easily act upon it.
To summarise, IIoT visualisation allows operators to:
- Find the data needed to do the job at hand, quickly and easily
- Access this data hands free and without removing PPE, so safety is never compromised
- View location-based, contextually relevant data in the field, in real-time
Using the RealWear HMT for IIoT Visualisation
The RealWear HMT-1 is the world’s first hands-free Android™ tablet class wearable computer for industrial workers. Fully ruggedised if can be used in wet, dusty, hot, dangerous and loud environments with ease. It’s high res micro-display sits just below the line of sight and views like a 7″ tablet allowing workers to consult it when needed at a simple downwards glance, without interfering in their field of vision when they don’t need it. The RealWear HMT-1Z1 delivers the same but is intrinsically safe for use in hazardous environments.
Both are fully PPE compatible with various mounting options to suit; from hard hat clips to silicone bands for clean rooms, there’s an option for every environment. Key HMT features for IIoT visualisation include:
