Sierra Wireless Updates AirVantage Servers In Response To Heartbleed Bug

Sierra Wireless, the global leader in machine-to-machine (M2M) devices and cloud services delivering intelligent wireless solutions that simplify the connected world, has announced that it has updated its AirVantage servers with the fixed OpenSSL version immune to the recent ‘Heatbleed’ bug.

All Sierra Wireless servers have been updated with a fixed OpenSSL version and services have been restarted to use the new library.

As this issue may have compromised private keys, even though Sierra Wireless did not discover evidence of an attack, all private keys and certificates on the Sierra Wireless infrastructure have been renewed and older certificates will be revoked.

On the user side, even though Sierra Wireless did not discover any usage of this vulnerability in OpenSSL, Sierra Wireless encourages all users to change passwords on AirVantage and on any other services that are potentially affected by this issue.
