The Digi Connect EZ WS is a medical-grade serial-over-Ethernet device server designed to integrate patient device data securely into hospital EMRs and other healthcare systems. Built for use in clinical environments, it meets IEC 60601 3rd Edition compliance standards, ensuring safe operation near patients. Featuring four RS-232 serial ports, the Connect EZ WS provides reliable, secure Ethernet connectivity for serial medical devices, facilitating real-time data transfer to central management systems.
Powered by Digi RealPort® technology, it creates virtual COM or TTY ports on host systems, enabling seamless, encrypted communication between networked serial devices and computers. This approach delivers consistent data flow and centralised control of all serial connections, improving interoperability across medical infrastructure.
Security is reinforced through Digi TrustFence®, offering encrypted connections, centralised authentication, VPN support, and scalable security updates to safeguard sensitive patient information and protect against emerging threats. The built-in Python environment enables custom application development, data conversion, and event-based automation directly at the device level.
With PoE support, the Connect EZ WS can be powered directly over Ethernet, eliminating the need for additional power sources and simplifying installation near connected equipment. Combined with Digi Accelerated Linux (DAL) for secure, long-term performance and Digi Remote Manager® for cloud or Digi On-Prem Manager, the Connect EZ WS delivers a dependable, scalable connectivity solution for healthcare environments and other data-critical industries.
