Optimising Field Operations with 4G LTE for the Emergency Services
In this interactive session, we will explore how 4G LTE can be successfully leveraged by the emergency services to improve their field operations. It will be presented by Dan Robinson, who previously served as Chief of Police for Lincoln Charter Township (now retired) amongst other police roles in Cass Co Sheriff’s Department, and is now Regional Sales Manager for Public Safety at Sierra Wireless. Looking at both in-vehicle and temporary/rapid site deployments, we will demonstrate the power of reliable, fast connectivity by exploring these use cases and their benefits for the services. We will also present content from one of our existing emergency services customers, South Wales Police, so that attendees can witness the improvements that this prominent and geographically-diverse force were able to achieve with Sierra Wireless and Westbase.io. We will also look at ESN-readiness and open up the floor to your questions.
Dan Robinson, also known as Chief Robinson (retired), is the Regional Sales Manager for Public Safety at Sierra Wireless, the leading 4G LTE router and gateway solution vendor. Boasting over 40 years of experience in law enforcement and public safety technology, Dan started his policing career in the Cass Co Sheriff’s Department on patrol duty where he worked his way to becoming Deputy Sheriff. Building on nearly 10 years in the Sheriff’s Department, he then went on to become Chief of Police in Lincoln Charter Township for 13 years before retiring from the force. From here he became the NHSTA Regional Program Manager for the US Department of Transportation, coordinating law enforcement in the Atlanta Regional Office. After this, Dan became the Deputy Director of the Institute of Police Technology Management, at the University of North Florida, for 13 years before making the move to more a corporate position. Serving emergency services and their communities in a different way, Dan has spent the last 15 years taking on senior corporate sales roles and bringing his police field experience to mobile technology.
