Are You Ready for Cradlepoint NetCloud Solution Packages?

GDPR and IoT

With the date for discontinuances of hardware-only SKUs fast approaching, we take another look at the new Cradlepoint NetCloud Solution packages.

What are the Cradlepoint NetCloud Solution packages?

Although Cradlepoint began life as a leading hardware manufacturer, thes company has been a long-time champion of leveraging cloud software to extend networking capabilities. This first began with their cloud-based management system, NetCloud Manager, which enables organisations to rapidly deploy and easily manage their entire Cradlepoint network. Their purchase of Pertino Networks then saw the incorporation of software-defined networking into the Cradlepoint portfolio with the launch of NetCloud Perimeter. Creating a virtual overlay network to enable easy deployment of changes at the network edge, NetCloud Perimeter maintains security, visibility, and control.

And now, as announced earlier this year, they are taking the next step and have introduced all-new, software-first solution packages which bundle NetCloud, hardware and support into one simple purchase. To make this simple for organisations, Cradlepoint NetCloud Solution packages are available to suit key market segment and applications requirements: Branch, Mobile and the Internet of Things.

Included with the Cradlepoint NetCloud Solution packages.

The new solution packages bundle the following into single-SKUs:

  • Cradlepoint NetCloud Manager and Perimeter (Essentials)
  • Purpose-built hardware for the target market
  • 24×7 support
  • Limited lifetime warranty

The packages are available in 1, 3 or 5 year options, and organisations can also opt to upgrade their NetCloud Essentials package to include advanced networking features:

  • For branch and mobile (upgrade to NetCloud Manager Enterprise – Prime Included):
    • Application-aware firewall
    • Application-aware QoS
    • Application-aware traffic analytics
    • Web content filtering
  • For IoT (upgrade to NetCloud Manager Prime – Standard Included):
    • Advanced enterprise routing
    • Advanced VPN and tunneling
    • Carrier, WAN and LAN analytics
    • Remote LAN device management

In addition, the Cradlepoint NetCloud Manager API and SDK are included with all solution packages for cloud-managed extensibility.

Why?

Organisations today need a more flexible, agile and secure WAN but achieving this is not easy with the traditional approach of selecting and combining individual network elements. Watch the below video from Cradlepoint, featuring their CEO George Mulhern talking about why the company’s all-in-one solution packages can help:

New hardware for NetCloud Solution packages.

In addition to launching these new solution packages, Cradlepoint has introduced a range of new hardware designed to deliver the latest networking capabilities to these key segments:

Cradlepoint AER2200 NetCloud Solution Package for Branch

The latest edition in the AER family, the AER2200 is designed to replace multiple hardware with a compact, cost-effective “all-in-one” branch solution. Supporting 600 Mbps LTE-Advanced, multiple WAN connections, dual modem, multi-port Ethernet switches and 4×4 802.11ac Wave 2 WiFi, the AER2200 combined with NetCloud services is specifically tailored to deliver best-in-class networking for branches.

Cradlepoint AP22 NetCloud Solution Package for Branch

Cradlepoint’s first access point, the AP22 works with the AER series to extend a secure WiFi network within branches. It provides a full security suite for immediate and confident access, and is packaged with NetCloud to enable simplified remote management for both routers and the connected access points from a single pane of glass.

Cradlepoint COR IBR1700 NetCloud Solution Package for Mobile

An all-new addition to the COR IBR family, the COR IBR1700 is the world’s first LTE router with three-carrier aggregation for a best-in-class performance. Key features include precision GPS with dead-reckoning, OBD-II support for vehicle diagnostics, five Gigabit Ethernet ports, simultaneous tri band 802.11ac Wave 2 Wifi and dual modem option. Combined with NetCloud it’s ideal for delivering reliable and secure in-vehicle connectivity.

Cradlepoint COR IBR600C NetCloud Solution Package for IoT

Providing an update to the highly popular COR IBR600, the new COR IBR600C is compact, semi-ruggedised and designed for Internet of Things applications. Including a CAT4 modem and packaged with NetCloud Solutions, it’s ideal for a range IoT applications such as kiosks, CCTV and digital signage.

New NetCloud Solution packages for existing hardware options.

In addition to the new hardware options, Cradlepoint are migrating some of their existing hardware series:

  • COR IBR900 in-vehicle router (with a new 600Mbps modem) into a new NetCloud Mobility package
  • ARC CBA850 bridge into a new NetCloud Branch package
  • AER1600 / 1650 routers into new NetCloud Branch packages

Hardware coming to an end.

In line with the launch of the new range of Cradlepoint NetCloud Solution packages, hardware options including the COR IBR600/650, COR IBR350, COR IBR1100/1150, AER3100/3150 and AER 2100 will no longer be available and will not be migrated to new solution packages. All previous hardware-only SKUs will also be discontinued on 31 May 2018.
